During this time, Assyria overthrew the Mitanni Empire, Hittite Empire, Egyptian Empire, and Babylonia in the near East. Also this was the time which the reigns of the great kings, such as Ashur-Uballit, Arik-Den-Ili, Tukulti Ninurta I, and Tiglath-Pileser. Assyria again became a great power over the next three centuries, overthrowing the twenty-fifth dinasty of  Egypt. The last one was the Neo-Assyrian Empire, which existed between 911 and 609 B.C. The Assyrian Empire succeeded the Middle Assyrian period of the late Bronze Age. Lastly, the Aramaic language became official language of the empire during this period.
